22mag Revolver Small - The NAA Mini Revolver is a sleek little revolver that is very attractive. It's reliable, made of high-quality stainless steel, and powerful enough for its size.
You never see a North American Arms revolver in a gun store, and the revolver never seems to misfire.

Although the caliber is not known for its effectiveness, the mini revolver is a good backup and offers some protection when nothing else can be carried.

This .22 Magnum is a last defense. (Also available in .22 Long Rifle). The mini revolver has generally replaced the inferior and unreliable .25 ACP semi-automatic pistols.
This little gun can be stored in unexpected places and the element of surprise is important. After all, everything is something and something is better than nothing!
I would not wax poetic about the North American Arms revolver, except for one point, it is so well made that it is a fine example of the gunsmith's art.
The gun is small and is a good solution to the problem of excessive recoil and indifferent accuracy.

NAA .22 LR and .22 Magnum revolvers are affordable and useful. This is a single action revolver. This means that the trigger must be cocked for each shot.
Pull the trigger, pull the trigger and the revolver will fire. The North American Arms revolver has a five-shot cylinder with recessed barrels.
The cylinders are recessed for safety in case the head of the casing breaks off. Although rare, the .22 Magnum is a powerful cartridge.
Most versions of the NAA revolver weigh only 6.2 ounces. My stock is 4.5 inches long and only three inches tall. It is a clean and light package.

When loading a revolver, make sure the tip of the hammer, actually the firing pin, rests in the safety groove of the barrel.
Otherwise, the point of the hammer will rest on the cap and the revolver may fire if dropped. Be sure to practice placing the tip of the hammer in this safe notch!
For safety reasons, keep fingers away from the muzzle when handling this revolver. The barrel is so short that your fingers can touch the muzzle!
Make deliberate moves and don't lose your head when cocking the hammer. The revolver can slip and the barrel will lift if you don't have a good solid grip to shoot with.

Sometimes it can be difficult for big hands. My workouts are limited to about 20 cartridges due to slow charging.
The main pin is removed and the cylinder is forced to load the revolver. The base pin is used to remove worn cases.
While it's unlikely you'll have time to reload during a close range firefight, the articulated frame makes it much easier to reload from a distance. Some prefer the original.
Another variation is the Pug. In my opinion, it's better than anything NAA offers. The synthetic grip provides a good grip when shooting.

The grip is important for effective hand stabilization when cocking the hammer and firing the revolver.
This pug does not have a trigger guard, as it is not necessary. It will only work if the trigger is cocked and pulled.
Small pistols need good sights even more than larger pistols because the short range radius contributes to misalignment.
The NAA Pug is equipped with an express scope designed for quick work at close range. The Pug also has a modified cylinder base pin.

Regardless of which North American Arms mini revolver you use, keep in mind that for safety, the tip of the hammer should sit in the grooves between the chambers.
As for aiming, the best way to practice is to quickly fire the revolver and shoot at the target.
I recommend using the revolver as if you were giving the enemy a nasal inhaler. It's a nasty business, but so is rape or murder.
I set up the revolver carefully and was able to consistently hit a man-sized target at 15 yards.

45-grain Hornady Critical Duty is designed specifically for defensive use. At 840 fps, this is a reasonable load to use in the .22 Magnum.
CCI now offers a segmented .22 Magnum cartridge with real perspectives. Most NAA revolvers hit their crosshairs at five meters or so.
At seven yards, a quick five-shot group puts all five shots at 4.75 inches, which is impressive for such a small gun.
None have the kind of power I'm comfortable with, which starts with the .38 Special, but any pistol is enough of a threat.

Nobody wants to get shot. The real advantage of North American pistols is that they are well made from quality material and provide reliability.

DOJ Announces New Rules for Stabilizing Mounts and Accessories Used to Convert Handguns to Sniper Rifles Jan 13, 2023 Up to .22 Mag Are there snubnosed revolvers for self defense? These little wheel guns pack more power than .22 LR pistols. But is it enough to get the job done?
In a previous article, we took a closer look at using .22 LR pistols for self defense. The conversation was inspired by the release of new rimfire models that look and feel like center percussion models. However, the second most popular rimfire rifle cartridge in the United States, the .22 WMR, was also introduced as a low-recoil defensive option. More commonly known as the .22 Magnum or simply .22 Mag., this rimfire cartridge is used more often than some people might expect because it doesn't spend much time in the media spotlight. In fact, unlike the .22 LR, some ammo manufacturers offer the .22 Mag cartridges specially designed for short-barreled pistols, including the Hornady Critical Defense and Speer Gold hollow point cartridges.
There are more gun options than you might think (but mostly enemies). A little research turned up some interesting pistol models for this powerful rimfire cartridge. The Kel-Tec PMR-30 is a semi-automatic pistol that accepts a proprietary 30-round magazine. North American Arms makes a wide range of single-action miniature mini revolvers that are carried as a back-up weapon or when a minimal pistol will suffice.
But the most common concealed pistols made for this round are short-barreled, double-action revolvers. This year, Taurus USA has re-released the 8-shot 942, which was previously out of print. This series of snub-nosed revolvers includes all steel and aluminum models chambered in .22 LR and .22 Mag. But Taurus isn't the only option available. Smith & Wesson's 7-shot 351 PD Airlite J-Frame has been selling steadily for several years. Ruger offers the 6-shot polymer-framed LCR with a concealed firing pin or the LCRx with an open trigger that can be manually cocked for single-action firing. Like the Taurus models, the Charter Arms Pathfinder series features a steel or aluminum frame. Perhaps the most unusual .22 Mag revolver currently available is the S333 Thunderstruck from Standard Manufacturing. This double-barreled pistol fires two shots from its 8-round cylinder with each pull of the trigger.

Advantages of .22 Mag. Pistols While some people may not mind the long, heavy trigger of small revolvers, they do have some advantages, including a simple design and ease of handling. If you pull the trigger and the round doesn't fire, you don't have to go through a cleaning like you would with a semi-automatic pistol to get the gun working again. Just pull the trigger again to fire the next round in the cylinder. I have worked with Smith & Wesson, Taurus, and Ruger models over the years and have found all of them to be reliable, well-made options.
At first glance, the .22 Mag. cartridge looks like a stretched-out version of the .22 LR, but it's actually not. This is a much newer cartridge that was introduced by Winchester in 1959 as an update to the older .22 Winchester Rimfire (WRF) cartridge. The .22 Magnum has a longer case, thicker case walls, and a slightly larger bullet diameter. While the .22 Mag. is less expensive than most centerfire pistol ammunition, it costs significantly more than the .22 LR. In most cases, the cost of .22 Mag. ammunition is somewhere in the middle between .22 LR and semi-automatic pistol cartridges.
One advantage that cannot be overlooked is that these snub-nosed revolvers
