Sometimes you may ask the question, is military time written as 2400 or 0000? The answer is both. For almost all military and emergency services, you will see midnight which also refers to 2400 and/or 0000. With other timekeeping tools such as digital clocks, digital clocks and computers, you will see a 24-hour time format. These devices will most likely use 0000 to display midnight, as this is considered a new day! Military time is generally used to describe a modified 24-hour time measurement used by military and government organizations in countries where civilians use noon/noon standard time. . An example is "nine hundred and thirty" for communication at 9:30 AM Standard Time. Minutes in military time communication differ when recording time that has passed or passed. An example of where minutes of military time are required to calculate time is for payroll. When determining the amount of time you may have worked in more detail than a rounded hour, you may need to incrementally report time based on minutes. When recording this number in military time, you will need to understand how military time minutes are counted.

The term "military minutes" is identical to decimal minutes. Both military minutes and decimal minutes can be found by dividing the number of minutes by 60 (the number of minutes in an hour). A simple example would be a scenario where you worked 35 minutes an hour. To determine how many military minutes equaled 35 minutes, you would divide 60 by 35 (60 ÷ 35 = 0.58). That means you worked 0.58 military minutes.

This can be quite confusing. When recording an actual moment in time, you simply put the minutes after the hours in military time. For example, 12:05 PM would be "1205" military time. However, if you were to write down that you worked twelve hours and five minutes in military time, minutes in decimals, you would write 12.08.

Because a decimal is simply a number that represents the fraction of an hour you're recording, or in this case, the fraction of an hour you worked.
