First of all, it should be noted that there are no real rules for men and women in the group. The rules of engagement are for service members. For the spouse, it's all a matter of best practice, common sense or, more often than not, simple tradition.
Why are there so many traditions? Whether you're attending a Marine or other service birthday party, homecoming party, or any other party, the rules and guidelines are always meant to respect the service. Traditions, including those followed by a group, remind us of where we come from and those who have gone before us.
One of the most common questions about balls is "Are they mandatory?" A: It's like anything else - yes, no and maybe - right?
Groups may be required or strongly encouraged for service members. It depends on the place and the circumstances. Not so for couples. Some couples choose to attend every event they can, some go to an annual party, and some never. If you participate, it should not affect your service membership at all.

However, if you do go, you should make sure you are prepared for the event's prices, what to wear and what to do. You may participate for appearance purposes only. Ydo doesn't have to stay up all night. After the official final part you can leave.
Let's start with the most obvious participants on the guest list. The unit or organization hosting the group invites all members of the service. Unless otherwise stated, everyone in the unit is invited and guests are allowed.
In addition, the event organizer can send invitations to the garrison or base, attached units, senior leaders from other units, or even the community. At some mass events, retirees, community leaders, and even representatives of local, regional or national authorities are invited and participate.
Celebrities also sometimes join the group, and while it's fun, it's not common. If you see someone you know, you should treat them with respect and normality, just like everyone else.
Traditional Military Uniform Groomsmen Attire
Most parties are considered formal events without ties. This means your waitress will be wearing her fanciest outfit. Groomsmen and bridesmaids should wear formal long dresses, no longer and below the knee. Anything knee-length or above is considered a cocktail dress or semi-formal and, traditionally, is not appropriate for a formal ball. The couple should wear a very nice black suit with a tuxedo or tie.
However, many modern couples find that a knee-length (not short!) shirt worn with the right jewelry is perfectly appropriate. In the past, tradition also dictated that women cover their shoulders at a formal reception or dinner. These hopes were mostly dashed.
Some couples like to color coordinate their service members' uniforms. For example, you might see a navy blue jacket that matches a military uniform, or a silver jacket that matches a Marine uniform. But there are no rules about what color you can and can't wear.
Since your goal is to look great on your date and grace the party and service you're attending, make sure your outfit choices are elegant. This means, for example, that you must not show too much skin or be completely stingy. Your goal should be to feel and look beautiful in your clothing choices, not to be completely distracted by your clothes.

When deciding whether to wear makeup, hair, and generally any body jewelry or piercings you show off, remember that it's probably best to err on the side of caution.
The couple or date should wear a suit and tie, as if you were wearing them to a fancy wedding. A tusk is not required, although you can go this route if you wish.
Group planning can be difficult at times. They are held on Friday nights to save some money, but that means being busy with work and school. But sometimes a group gives you a weekend getaway or a quick overnight date.
Balls are often held in famous places. Sometimes venues provide transportation to and from the event so they can avoid the dangers of drunk driving. Often it's free shipping, sometimes it's free. You can ask your department what is available.

If you have young children, you may want to hire a babysitter for the duration of the party as it is not appropriate to bring children to the event. Occasionally, facilities offer children on site. Ask the location for this option.
Party organizers often reserve a venue or a series of nearby hotel rooms for chaperones who want to spend the night instead of driving. The prices of these rooms are usually higher than the price of the group ticket, but they are reduced compared to the usual price of the night. Check the position.
Before the start of the official part of the group, you can visit the reception. This is probably the most confusing protocol part of the whole evening, but it's also fun because it's steeped in tradition.
How it works: You stand in line at the front desk and walk in front of your waiter. They will introduce you first, and then introduce themselves to the people on the front line, where the assistants or assistants will be. Do not shake hands with this person! (And you can gently remind new, younger military members and veterans if they don't know what to do.)

Sometimes there may be a business card with your name on it. Find it on the chart at the beginning of the receiving line, hand it to the recruiter and then continue down the line.
That person will introduce you to the next person, who may be the guest of honor, saying: “This (title) is so-and-so and Mrs. (or Ms. or Mr.) so-and-so. ” You shake their hand, say something like “I'm glad” and move down.
Since names don't go well, your chaperone will likely introduce you to other people, who may be the high commissioner and spouse of the host, and the senior officer and spouse of the unit. A short greeting to each of these people.
If you decide to skip the pick-up line, no one will catch you or hunt you down. This means that it has become a tradition to experience.

If the dining room is open, we recommend that you visit your seat before the reception line so that you can leave your drinks and other belongings there. Traditionally, when carrying drinks through the reception line, if you are wearing gloves, remove your right hand first.
One more thing: If you have an award winner like Molly Pitcher as your wife and are debating whether to wear a locket, consider wearing it for the reception and formal part of the evening, then take it off for the informal part.
Balls are supposed to be a fun celebration, but it's still a work event for your service member. This means you should have fun, but not get so drunk that you lose control or lose your belt on the dance floor.
When you arrive at the party, if the dining room is open, find your seat and leave anything you don't want to bring to the reception. Hang out with friends, visit a bar, and if you want, make an appointment with a professional photographer. Images are not free - you may need to register or pay in advance to purchase them.

Go ahead and enjoy the bar, but limit your consumption so you don't embarrass yourself or your waiter. Also, they often have cash, so bring cash. Sometimes you need to recommend, sometimes not. Plan accordingly. Tip: Bars usually close before the official ceremony and open after the guest speaker has finished.
