Today we are looking at the IASW Suppressed 22LR AR-15 from Innovative Arms. Small, light, cheap to shoot and very quiet, IASW is very quiet to practice skills or just a backyard plink without alerting the neighbors. Heck, you don't even notice the man standing next to you. Is it worth spending $1,000 of your hard earned money on a limited edition rimfire AR? We see.
22 Caliber Ar-15
I went for years against the idea of having an AR-15 chambered in .22LR. And honestly I feel like a hypocrite; I have shared the blessing of rimfire shooting over the years and rarely have I been told that there is an AR chambered in the same cartridge that is guaranteed to hit almost everyone in the face. Target-made .22LR AR-15's may feel like toys compared to their more powerful cousins, but there is no reason to shrug them off as your weapon is not appropriate. Until now, I have failed you by not introducing a platform that is a joy to shoot, cheap and quiet.
Smith & Wesson M&p15 22 .22lr Rifle
The Innovative Arms IASW is available in two versions: two short piston guns and a 16.1″ gun with permanent attachment tube and guard. IASW is made of Smith & Wesson M & P15-22 rifle barrel with a barrel cut to 4.5 ". This barrel length is the magic number for most bullets .22LR at subsonic velocities to achieve high most noise reduction.
Although Innovative Arms calls the IASW an integrated rifle, purists may disagree due to the lack of space in the barrel. I would argue that since neither NFA nor non-NFA models can be fired without them including a fire extinguisher, they are the most ineffective firearms. I doubt that will turn off many potential customers.
With a base MSRP of about $500 for the S&W M&P15-22 and a good rimfire silencer running about $350, an argument can be made that you can build a limited edition 22LR AR15 cheaper than buying "one" system. However, as in the case of most attack caliber, the internal volume of the king. And, depending on the model you choose, Innovative IASW Arms has dual or triple rimfire suppressors as standard. So why not buy or build a 10/22 or other semi-auto rimfire rifle or pistol? For one, an AR-style rifle allows you to develop skills and train with all the ergonomics and muscle memory of a real AR-15. Without recoil, noise and the act of intimidation that can come with all the nasty black people. New, young and small soldiers can shoot IASW for hours without the need for hearing protection or recoil conditions. Repetition is the key to becoming a professional shooter. Obviously there are conversion kits that allow you to build a rimfire AR-15 in the lower 5.56mm.
Back to the price. Yes, $1,100 to $1,300 is a lot of money to drop on a rimfire rifle. But if you consider the complete package it will be worth the additional investment to have a factory management system.
As with most monocore silencers, IASW usually has a little first round pop (FRP). But I will mark FRP as a rare find in normal.
What, Exactly, Is An Ar 15 Rifle?
The IASW's suppression level is very good, among the best for rimfire suppressors on the market today. However, since I don't own a semi-auto pistol, my comparison has been relegated to pistols. If you are looking for quiet, you will not be disappointed.

While the initial investment for the Innovative Arms IASW is slightly higher than buying a standard rimfire AR platform with a separate thread-on suppressor, the performance and size of this system is worth a look. Pulling the trigger on IASW is the best experience. Expanding rimfire is life.

A .22 ar caliber version would be a good study. I have tried .22 unit conversion.
As far as they go, I prefer having two guns to having one with some accessories. Plus, the .22 Long Rifle bullet tends to put lead in the .223 Remington barrel.

The Colt M4 / SOCOM rifle is my favorite AR-15. The LE6920 is very close to the military M4 rifle. Colt M4 .22 caliber rifle is made under license from Walther.
Colt has a long history of manufacturing licensed parts (and even firearms) going back to Eli Whitney and continuing with Adcor today.
The Walther gun is first class in all respects and the gun deserves to hold the Colt name.
Only the .22 caliber magazine is a gift in looking like a Colt M4 .22. Otherwise, it looks like an ordinary AR-15.

The Colt M4 .22 is a simple blowback semi-automatic rimfire rifle. It is intended to function as closely as possible to an AR-15 rifle.
The symptoms are great. The real prize is a long .22 caliber magazine. Safety, trigger, sight, magazine release and trigger guard functions similar to the Colt AR-15 rifle.
This makes a great affordable training rifle for AR-15 users. The Walther works differently than the AR-15, but the controls are the same for the most part.
An important feature is the match level barrel. The barrel rises in a sleeve that follows the contours of a standard AR-15 carbine.
Basic Questions About The Ar 15
Correct barrel even for A1-style flash hider. The sights are standard AR-15 type. There are many modifications in sight.
The quad rail is free-floating. The Picatinny rail allows for the attachment of a laser or combat light, and even a side-mounted red dot sight.
The receiver is aluminum, like the AR-15. They are marked Colt and M4 Carbine. Walther's markings are out of the way on the right side of the receiver.
